!±8± IRiver

iriver (formerly iRiver, full name iriver Limited), daughter company to ReignCom, is a consumer electronics brand founded in 1999 and headquartered in Seoul, Korea. It is known for producing portable digital audio players, or "MP3 players", and video players. iriver's products commonly include USB Mass Storage, FM tuner and recording capabilities. iriver's first product was the iMP-100, a portable CD player capable of decoding MP3 data files on CDs in the year 2000. The current product range of iHP-100 (now named H100) Players (100, 120 and 140) are capable of playing MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis (with some limitations) , and WAV audio files. Viewing of text files is also supported. Models in the H300 (320 and 340) series are able to play MP3, WMV, Ogg, WAV and AVI video files (last two only with firmware upgrades) and are capable of displaying JPEG and BMP image files (which do not utilize the full screen dimensions unless converted to the appropriate dimensions/resolution).

Products

iriver H340iriver's range, as of September 2005 is as follows. In the case of hard disk and flash memory-based players, the amount of storage built in is given in brackets. Some models have been discontinued from production and retail:

Some of the iMP-Series are known as the C-Series in Korea.

Hard disk based players
E10 (6GB) (2006) It comes in white and black. It uses a similar interface to that of the U10 series. The device also features a remote control for the U10's cradle and a TV. H300 series (2004), similar to the H100 series, but capable of transferring pictures directly from digital cameras and UMS-compatible devices such as flash drives, as well as showing digital images and XviD movies at 15FPS on a color screen (Video support is not available on US players with US firmware). The H300 also lacks the optical in/outputs that were on the H100's. Models: H320 (20 GB) and H340 (40 GB). MOLA1 of The Definition rapping over "If I Can't" by 50 Cent Lyrics: If I can't do it, homie, it can't be done. I'm the 1. I'm not the 2, not the 3, not the 4 the 5, I'm fortified live The MOLA1 I ride til' I die because If I can't do it, homie, it can't be done. I'm the 1. Open Face Helmet Styles - One For Every Preference

!±8± Open Face Helmet Styles - One For Every Preference

The open face helmet is a great style for both men and women. This is also known as a three quarters style. It is a protective head covering designed to help withstand impact to the head. The great thing about this type is that there are so many different configurations available! These are mainly popular within the motorcycle community but they also have their place with riders of all terrain vehicles and quad runners. Many laws require riders to wear helmets for safety purposes and these are certainly a great choice.

The design of the open face helmet is such that a hard outer shell (usually made of carbon fiber, Kevlar or strong plastic) covers the entire back of the head. Inside that hard covering is lining of polypropylene or polystyrene. This type of foam can withstand impact and help prevent serious head injury. The foam may then be covered with a soft material to provide comfort to the wearer. This style fits snug to the head and is help tight with an adjustable chinstrap. Some helmets come with a visor, while others do not. If the model you choose does not come with a visor or face shield, you will want to invest in some protective goggles.

A feature of the open face helmet that many riders like is the ability to customize it. Many of these helmets have snaps. You can purchase accessories that will snap directly on and are interchangeable. Some available customization pieces include snap on goggles, visors and shields. Other accessories that can be used with this style include speaker and microphone sets. These are particularly useful when communicating with other riders during a road trip. You can also purchase custom skins for your helmets. These skins instantly change the look. Plain black is now camouflage. Silver and blue becomes a flat green. The choices are endless!

Other styles beyond the open face helmet include the full-face. This covers the entire head including the chin. A visor that raises and lowers shields the eyes. These usually have vents on the chin and forehead, which help get fresh air to the rider. These offer the most protection, but they can feel quite confining to some riders. There is also the off road or motocross helmet. These are made to provide extra protection to riders that compete in off road events. The likelihood of a fall or wipe out is pretty good during these competitions and the riders need as much protection as possible to avoid concussions and life-threatening brain injuries. The flip up style (also known as 'modular') is a hybrid of sorts. It has the features of a full-face while offering a flip up chin piece. These are also called convertible helmets. Finally, there is the half-helmet. This is similar to the open face helmet although these rarely have any type of face shield provided. They also do not extend down to cover the back base of the head where skull meets base.

How To Choose the Right Studio Microphone For Your Recordings

!±8± How To Choose the Right Studio Microphone For Your Recordings

Choosing a microphone shouldn't be too hard, assuming that you know the differences between microphones and what you will be using yours for. Granted, recording your vocals should not warrant the same type of studio microphone as recording instruments. It's important to know what you will be using it for, and then going on from there.

A general rule is that dynamic microphones such as the Shure SM58S are exceptional for instruments and life performances. As a matter of fact, if you pay close attention to what most live performers use, you can almost bet, that it will be a Shure SM58S. On the other hand, condenser studio microphones are used for vocals or other soft recordings where details are extremely important. As you can see, having both type of microphones would be beneficial, but that boils down to your budget.

The condenser has a flatter frequency then the dynamic, which for recording vocals is a must. What ends up happening when you record on a condenser studio microphone such as the AKG PERCEPTION 220, you get a more clearer and accurate recording. The dynamic on the other hand, tunes out some of the details because once again, they are meant to be used for instrument recording and live performances.

The condenser studio microphone also requires a preamp or a mixer, which will provide phantom power of around 48 volts. Because the condenser requires the electric juice to run, the preamp serves as a booster. The dynamic doesn't require any phantom power, seeing as how it's a more rugged and less sensitive counterpart to its brother microphone, the condenser.

There is also another important thing to consider when choosing the perfect studio microphone for you - the pick up pattern. Essentially there are three different kind of "pick up patterns;" the omni directional microphones, the bidirectional microphones, and the unidirectional microphones.

The omni directional microphones pick up sounds evenly, so if you have a home recording studio, STAY away from such microphones. Why? It will pick up your TV, your neighbours TV, and your dog barking at the cat.

Bidirectional microphones on the other hand pick up sounds from only two directions, the front and the back. They are often used in radio interviews, which allow people to share a microphone.
Unidirectional microphones are the optimal for home recording studios. These microphones pick up sounds from one direction, and allow you to isolate sounds that you don't want to record quite easily. They also include the cardioid microphone such as the Blue Microphones Baby Bottle Cardioid Condenser Mic.

In conclusion, it all depends on what you will be using your microphone for. If you plan on recording instruments or performing live, then a microphone such as the Shure SM58S Vocal Microphone is your best bet. On the other hand, if you are going to be recording vocals and care about the detail and clarity of them, then you have to purchase a condenser studio microphone.
